Wines & Vines

With a focus on sustainability, Blue Tiger Wines specializes in sourcing premium organic grapes from Australia’s largest and most important wine region - the Riverland’s of South Australia. The parent company, Interpack, is one of Australia’s leading wine packaging companies with the highest internationally recognised food safety packaging certification FSSC 2200.

Blue Tiger has secure access to over 100 acres of vineyards in the Riverland’s wine-grape growing region where many famous brands are grown. The vineyards are Australian Certified Organic (Producer Number 10936A) and were planted between 1990-2005. A majority of the vines were planted on their own roots with a diverse range of clone stock and selected varieties used.

The varieties planted in this region include:

  • Shiraz
  • Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Merlot
  • Petit Verdot
  • Chardonnay

The Riverland enjoys a Mediterranean climate with low rain fall, mild winters, dry summers and low humidity. Rich and fertile sandy-loam soils make this a perfect climate for growing organic grapes and making organic wines.

Our vines are trellised on two wires spaced 500 mm apart vertical, with 1.2 meter vine spacing and 3 meter row width. These important details allow our grapes to experience good air flow while minimizing the risk of any disease. The vineyards are irrigated by drip irrigation with moisture monitoring and good drainage. Vintage is from late January until mid-April each year. Harvesting is all done by quality machines in the cool of the night. Fortunately, our dry environment rarely has rainfall during harvest so there are less factors during this time that can spoil the fruit of our labour.

Our specialist wine makers also source fruit from different vineyards across the state, from the warm climate of the Riverland down to the cooler Limestone Coast, the wines are multi-regional blends that highlight the best that South Australia has to offer, creating wines even greater than the sum of their parts.

A key component of our wine is from the Vineyard 1913 which is nested at the top of the Monash Valley. Vineyard 1913 dates back to the early 1900’s when the land was subdivided and allocated to returning soldiers from WW1. The vineyard is a family owned wine business, and a third generation viticulturist and wine produced.

We look forward to sharing our wines with you.
